Base pay range
Our banking client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Human Resources to join their leadership team. The AVP of Human Resources will be responsible for driving HR strategy and initiatives that align with the bank's goals and values. This role will oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that support the bank's objectives and growth.
- Talent Management: Lead talent acquisition efforts to attract, retain, and develop top talent. Oversee the recruitment process, onboarding, and succession planning.
- Employee Relations: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by addressing employee concerns, mediating disputes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to drive employee engagement, productivity, and development.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Compliance: Ensure HR practices are compliant with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and bank policies. Stay updated on changes in legislation and implement necessary changes.
- Organizational Development: Support organizational change initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- HR Metrics: Develop and track key HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives and drive data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience.
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives.
- Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
