Associate Accountant

Associate Accountant

The Associate Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions (GL, cash app and AR/AP) and providing quality service to clients and vendors through accurate financial information. This position assists with the interpretation, revision, and implementation of accounting procedures along with analyzing and resolving accounting procedural issues and will properly manage accounting functions in accordance with corporate accounting practices and generally accepted accounting principles.

• Reviews, approves, and processes AR transactions including incoming checks, ACH, or wire transfers; analyzes and resolves any AR issues as needed.
• Reconciles cash/bank and other general ledger accounts with various ledgers and supporting documents and performs other month-end closing responsibilities.
• Assists with maintaining schedules and reconciliations of various AP/AR accounts and prepares journal entries for the general ledger.
• Continually searches for improved methods of tracking, controlling, and reporting financial information
• Collaborates with the accounting team in preparation of annual audits.
• Manages special projects as requested by Senior Management.
• Performs other duties as directed by Manager.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• This is a full time, hybrid position working from our Nashville TN or Raleigh NC office.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Proficient in MS Office suite; Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, macros).
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of / experience with state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Gramm-Leach – Bliley Act (GLBA) preferred.
  
  
  

Employees will be in an office and will be required to be able to travel to additional office buildings as needed. The position is sedentary and requires sitting for long periods of time while working on a computer or using other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift or move items up to 30+ pounds.
