Join Our Team as an Associate (Accounting and Contracts Clerk)

Skeo Solutions, Inc. is a small consulting firm that provides innovative and collaborative solutions to our primary clients in environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic opportunity.

Most Skeo support is provided to the federal and local governments. The person in this position would assist with projects in the Finance and Contracts Department. We are seeking an Associate to join Skeo on a full-time basis, with full-time options ranging from 30 to 40 hours per week, to support team members and clients throughout the contract lifecycle including procurement, accounts payable, contract management, report creation, and documentation review and maintenance.

Some Responsibilities of This Position Include:

  • Implementing Skeo’s subcontractor and vendor procurement process
  • Obtaining quotes and marketing information from potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Assisting with documenting the identification and selection process of subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Obtaining required onboarding paperwork and with completing the onboarding process for new subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Supporting the accounts payable process
  • Implementing the accounts payable process with subcontractors, vendors and suppliers
  • Strengthening relationships with subcontractors, vendors and suppliers through excellent communication and timely payments
  • Reviewing invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
  • Entering invoice and general ledger data
  • Ensuring invoices from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors are processed accurately and paid on time
  • Drafting special service and subcontract agreements
  • Drafting needed agreements using provided templates in a uniform manner
  • Communicating with partners to gather, process, organize and store supporting documentation
  • Report creation and data analysis
  • Thinking of ways to effectively translate requests and data into reports and visualizations and creating them
  • Creating and maintaining detailed reports to showcase business performance and opportunities
  • Working with team members to improve existing processes
  • Other administrative tasks to support finance and contracts
  • Collaborating with contract management in various capacities with clear, open, and responsive communication to ensure smooth completion of requests from teammates and external clients
  • Performing administrative tasks such as reviewing documents for accuracy and performing internal and external reporting activities, audits, and following up as necessary to fill documentation gaps related to managing contracts effectively and accurately
  • Maintaining integrity and confidentiality when accessing confidential data and conducting financial reporting
  • Assisting senior financial officers and staff as needed

Skills We Are Seeking:

Essential Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience in similar work
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Meticulous and extreme orientation to notice small details
  • A nimble approach to meeting project needs which might continually be in flux
  • An adaptable disposition with the flexibility to go with the flow when project needs change with short notice or multiple changes are requested mid-project
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferable Skills And Qualifications

  • The skills listed as preferable are not required. Applicants who meet the essential skills and qualifications are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with contract administration, especially fixed price and time and materials contracts
  • General knowledge of financial and accounting regulations and rules, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Tech savvy with prior experience working on government contracting accounting systems like JAMIS, Deltek, or similar software
