Job description
The Associate Media Director, Digital is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing media strategy and execution across various digital channels and client portfolios, both locally and nationally.
This position entails providing key strategic input for media allocations and plans, overseeing successful campaign execution, and providing innovation to the business. The AMD, Digital will act as the go-to for Supervisors and Buyers on digital strategy direction and troubleshooting.
The Associate Media Director, Digital must also foster collaboration among groups across the agency. This role interacts with clients, documents processes, trains and mentors teams, and ensures successful project execution. Their focus on strategic optimization and industry insights drives effective campaigns and business outcomes.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Develop media strategies for assigned clients, utilizing a data-driven approach to build strategic framework and budget allocation
Supervise the execution of annual and quarterly media plans as well as recaps, and ensures campaigns are launched with accurate tracking and reporting by the team
Collaborate with Digital Media Supervisors and Buyers on optimization strategies and KPI/goal achievement
Identify and implement growth opportunities across accounts as appropriate
Lead weekly internal and external reports, both written recaps and verbal presentations
Spearhead high-level conversations around testing and measurement, working closely with Analytics to create clear test plans that align with client objectives
Keep agency and team informed of emerging media technology and industry trends to integrate into key accounts
Participate in new business opportunities as needed
Maintain positive rapport with partner agencies and helps evaluate strategic media partnership recommendations as necessary
Perform other related duties as required or assigned
Conduct cross-department trainings in partnership with Director, Digital Strategy
Mentor and develop team resources, creating a positive environment for internal teams to learn and grow
Provide thought leadership to guide strategy and execution best practices
Supervisory responsibilities
Involves direct supervision of select Digital Media Supervisors on assigned accounts
Education and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.)
Experience
8+ years of digital media planning experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understand when and why to use different digital media channels and tactics to make recommendations based on client business objectives and KPIs
Ability to speak to how traditional and digital media work together
Programmatic planning, buying, and optimization experience, as assigned account list skews heavily to CTV and programmatic tactics
Experience in digital video channels and strategies is strongly preferred
Comfort level with data, analytics and measurement, and various data sources and methodologies
Up-to-date understanding of streaming landscape and first-party data audience activation a plus
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a knack for troubleshooting
Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present in confident manner to client executives and upper management
Meticulous self-starter who can keep track of multiple projects, meet deadlines and help keep team on task
Demonstrate and be an example of accountability and ownership in both personal and team responsibilities
Specific knowledge required
Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts and practices with the ability to apply this knowledge in common business situations
Tools/Platform Experience
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must.

Compensation Range: $95-$120k/year. This is the pay range Ocean Media reasonably expects it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on level of experience, relevant skills, professional certifications, market pay, and demand for the role. Ocean Media reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
