The Attorney Development & Legal Recruitment (ADR) Specialist will work closely with the Chief Attorney Development and Inclusion Officer and the Director of Legal Recruitment and is responsible for all aspects of attorney development and legal recruitment initiatives including first year associate orientation programs, mentoring, evaluations, compensation, department specific training, firm-wide training, diversity initiatives and general attorney policies and recruitment of summer associates, entry level and lateral lawyers.
Essential Functions:
Attorney Development & Training
Direct attorneys to resources within the Firm to help resolve concerns or issues and coordinate available resources to find solutions.
Track department calendar of activities and identifying potential conflicts with other firm events.
Manage meeting and program logistics including scheduling, securing meeting rooms, coordinating meeting room set-up and materials, and trouble-shooting.
Help coordinate first year associate program and firm-wide training programs
Help coordinate pro bono and diversity initiatives and programs
Recruitment
Manage on-campus recruiting including job fairs, resume collections and entry level recruiting and schedule interviews for the DC office
Maintain relationships with career services, leverage school alumni, and oversee firm sponsorships of student groups for DC target law schools
Manage the summer associate program for the DC office including event planning and attending events, training programs and budget tracking
Support Legal Recruitment Director with preparation for Hiring Committee meetings
Manage the applicant tracking system for DC candidates
Manage the hiring process of lateral associate candidates including resume screening, communicating with the lead partner(s) on searches, communicating with candidates and search firms, scheduling interviews and onboarding
Greet and escort candidates at the firm as needed
Miscellaneous tasks as needed
General
Coordinate and attend attorney functions and is a visible part of the Firm culture.
Perform ongoing administrative tasks for the department such as: Update budget tracking spreadsheets and other department reports; Department correspondence; Maintain files; Data entry and database maintenance
Handling new tasks, as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; background with Survey Monkey
excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills
the ability to work collaboratively with others and interact with all levels of staff
professional demeanor
