As such, Sors’ primary purpose is to supply (and in some cases, install) residential interior finishes and exterior envelope work including but not limited to, glass and glazing systems, countertops, interior doors, planters, millwork, cabinets, and exterior envelope to Integrare projects, as well as to other third-party projects.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated BIM/VDC Engineer to join our team in delivering innovative ground-up multifamily projects in the dynamic Los Angeles market. You will be a key player in leveraging Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) technologies throughout the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through construction, ensuring efficient coordination, clash detection, and cost optimization.


Key Responsibilities:


3D Model Creation & Management:

  • Develop and maintain detailed, accurate 3D models in Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 (or equivalent platforms), incorporating architectural, structural, MEP, and other relevant disciplines.
  • Utilize models for design review, constructability analysis, quantity takeoffs, and clash detection.
  • Establish and enforce BIM/VDC standards and best practices for the project team.

Coordination & Collaboration:

  • Participate in coordination meetings with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of design and construction.
  • Identify and resolve clashes and conflicts within the model before construction.
  • Facilitate effective communication and data exchange among team members using BIM 360 or other collaborative platforms.

Preconstruction Support:

  • Participate in the development of accurate cost estimates and schedules using BIM-derived data.
  • Analyze project logistics and sequencing in the virtual environment.
  • Assist in evaluating building systems and materials.

Construction Support:

  • Provide ongoing model updates to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Support field teams with model-based visualization and problem-solving.
  • Contribute to project documentation and record models.


Professional Experience/Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree: In Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.


Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with BIM/VDC in the AEC industry, preferably with multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 (or similar platforms), and other relevant software.
  • Familiarity with California building codes and regulations is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of construction practices, materials, and building systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with clash detection and resolution.
  • Proficiency in generating construction documentation from the model.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
