Description

  • The primary responsibility of the department is to design, generate, validate, and archive biological reagents for discovery activities across all therapeutic modalities.
  • Under the instruction of the supervisor, the scientist will help with cell engineering using CRISPR/Cas systems and characterize, scale up and bank the cell lines.
  • Work in a matrix team environment to enable optimal delivery of project
  • Optimize the cell engineering process and generate/characterize cell reagents as needed by sponsored program teams
  • Analyze and summarize any experimental or quality control data using a variety of laboratory instrumentation and computer software
  • Promptly report the results to the team and discuss about/execute the next steps
  • Compliance with all R&D data integrity practices, ethics codes, standards and training, and safety training and practice

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g. cellular/molecular biology, biotechnology).
  • Extensive mammalian cell culture experience
  • Sequencing (Sanger/NGS), PCR, and nucleic acid prep/analysis
  • Ability to follow detailed protocols in a precise and reproducible way
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong practical knowledge of cell biology with practical knowledge one or more of the following:
  • Experience with advanced cellular models (iPSC, primary cells, co-culture and organoids)
  • Experience with genome editing and mol bio software (e.g. Benchling, SnapGene)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to work on multiple tasks

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
