Job Summary
As a recognized expert, provides professional expertise and guidance on all aspects of strategic business development for the enterprise. Recommends and executes strategies that leverage academic and clinical programs, minimize risk, and maximize return on investment. Serves as a liaison with external provider groups. Contributes to long-term strategy for business development, network development, and affiliation activities.
The Director of Partnership Growth will work with the Executive Director of Health System Partnerships & Development to develop a strategy and network plan throughout northern California. This will include internal and external analyses, establishing relationships with provider groups and community hospitals, leading strategic efforts supporting hospital affiliations and strategic relationships, new health ventures, outreach clinic growth, a well as expansion of physician networks.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $124,400 - $291,600 (Annual Rate). Department Description
UCSF Health faces a highly competitive and rapidly evolving healthcare environment. To succeed, a wide range of critical strategic initiatives are underway, which involve improving alignment and creating partnerships with stakeholders – internal, regional, national, and international. This position will develop and implement programmatic partnerships across the clinical enterprise to achieve the strategic goals of UCSF Health and foster profitable growth. Particular emphasis on multi-faceted relations with community hospitals and physician groups, outreach initiatives, and service line development and expansion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related area for four years of equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of health care experience, i.e., provider segments; strategic and business planning; market assessment and basic finance/budget principles).
- Expert knowledge of the principles, concepts, and strategies involved in successful strategic growth and business development.
- Expert critical thinking and analytical skills, assessing complex issues, and sensitive situations and developing solutions.
- Highly developed knowledge in healthcare planning, business development, and joint venture design.
- Expert interpersonal skills to interact and negotiate professionally with highly influential entities. Adept at establishing and cultivating business relationships.
- Highly advanced written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with impact.
- Expert ability to develop comprehensive reports and presentations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software and database applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Highly developed leadership skills to guide, influence and motivate others.
- Expert ability to achieve measurable results in a diverse stakeholder landscape balancing competing and conflicting interests.
- Knowledge and ability to serve as an expert and educational resource on healthcare strategy issues.
- Expert ability to deliver informative, persuasive presentations.
- A combination of provider-based experience and consulting experience
- Five or more years of project management experience.
