The Business Development Intern assists in executing business development plans to drive growth, partnering closely with leadership. They participate in identifying and qualifying new leads through market research and networking, while also researching client information to provide insights for the Business Development Team. The role involves developing and maintaining sales presentations to highlight the company's products and services and tracking sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Additionally, the intern supports the team and other departments, taking on extra responsibilities and contributing to company goals in a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in identifying and researching potential business opportunities and partnerships.
Helps prepare presentations and reports for business development meetings.
Supports the team in managing client relationships and communications.
Contributes to market research and competitive analysis projects.
Assists in organizing and attending local networking events and industry conferences.
Assists with executing Atlanta Life’s business development plans in partnership with leadership to drive growth.
Participates in the process of identifying and qualifying of new leads through market research, networking, and other prospecting activities.
Tracks and analyzes sales data to identify prospects, trends, and areas for improvement.
Provides support to the Business Development Team and other departments as needed.
Willingly takes on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong aptitude for learning new processes and being able to convert that learning to action
Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Interest in business strategy and market trends
Ability to build and maintain relationships
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines
Strong professional interpersonal skills
Goal-oriented with a results-driven mindset
Training or Work Experience:
Experience attending networking events.
Demonstrated experience attending and participating in community support initiatives preferred.
Education:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
Currently enrolled in a business or related bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university preferred.
Working Conditions:
On-Site Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
Business Travel: Travel not likely/required.
