They are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Valuation Manager to join our growing team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly under an expert testifier and specialize in business valuations related to litigation, matrimonial cases, shareholder disputes, and gift and estate matters.


Position Overview:

As a Business Valuation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert financial analysis and valuation services to support clients in various legal and financial scenarios. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive business valuations, preparing detailed financial models, and collaborating with legal teams to provide insightful analyses for litigation, matrimonial cases, shareholder disputes, and gift and estate matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Valuation: Conduct thorough business valuations using a variety of methodologies such as discounted cash flow (DCF), market comparables, and precedent transactions.
  2. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess the value of businesses in different contexts, ensuring accuracy and reliability of financial projections.
  3. Litigation Support: Collaborate with legal teams and the expert for testimony, prepare expert reports, and assist in the resolution of financial disputes.
  4. Matrimonial Matters (experience not necessary as can be trained): Assess the value of businesses in the context of matrimonial cases, considering unique factors such as personal vs. enterprise goodwill and marital estate complexities.
  5. Shareholder Disputes: Evaluate the fair market value of business interests in shareholder disputes, considering minority and controlling interests, as well as market conditions.
  6. Gift and Estate Matters: Provide valuation services for estate planning purposes, gift tax reporting, and other related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  7. Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs, provide expert advice, and deliver high-quality valuation reports tailored to their requirements.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CVA, ASA, ABV) preferred.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in business valuation, with a focus on litigation support and specialized matters.
  3. Strong knowledge of valuation methodologies, financial modeling, and relevant accounting principles.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  5. Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  6. Experience in working with legal teams is highly desirable.
