Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial aspects, including its multiple Limited Liability Companies (LLCs). The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring the organization’s financial health and sustainability while supporting its mission-driven goals. This role requires a deep understanding of non-profit financial management, complex multi-entity structures, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans.
  • Analyze financial performance and present insights to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Oversee the financial operations of the non-profit and its LLCs, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and financing activities to ensure adequate liquidity and financial stability.
  • Supervise accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
  1. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards (GAAP for non-profits).
  • Oversee annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through appropriate risk management strategies.
  1. Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other departments to support overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on financial matters and strategic initiatives.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Communicate financial information effectively to various stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, donors, partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support fundraising efforts by providing financial insights and participating in donor engagement activities.
  1. Operational Oversight:
  • Ensure efficient financial operations across all entities, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and enhance internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a non-profit organization. Experience managing multiple LLCs is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of non-profit financial management and GAAP.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
