Job Overview
The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Connect Airlines will working closely with the CEO and CSO to oversee all revenue-generating activities. The CRO will lead strategic business initiatives focused on maximizing passenger revenue both through ticket sales and ancillary revenues (both B2C and B2B) as well as maximizing sales through 3rd party channels, be they other partner airlines of OTAs. This executive will drive revenue growth and maximize profitability and will be a “roll-up the sleeves” leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive revenue growth strategies aligned with Connect Airlines’ business objectives.
- Revenue Management: Driving the dual objectives of maximizing load factor with maximum yields.
- Commercial Operations: Lead the commercial operations team, including marketing, sales, and business development.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and competitive dynamics.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and manage sales strategies and channels to maximize revenue and profitability both through business accounts (SME/Corporates) and Trade partners.
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on revenue, cost of sales and profitability performance.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior revenue or commercial leadership role within the airline or transportation industry.
- Strong understanding of revenue management, sales, marketing, and business development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic revenue growth initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Very strong analytical, synthesis and strategy skills, as well as strong business and commercial judgement
- Advanced analytical quantitative experience
- Demonstrate analytical reasoning with the ability to tackle complex problems
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word and databases
- Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively and under pressure
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of revenue management experience (direct, or through consulting engagements) with an airline.
- Excellent relationship, collaboration and team-building skills;
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills;
- Hands-on, engaged, entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on results and outcomes;
- High degree of self-motivation, tenacity, grit, perseverance and success-oriented behavior.
- Experience with a start-up airline operation to develop and mentor a revenue management team.
