Overview

Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Cisco ISE Engineer working remotely. This is a Contract opportunity that offers benefits. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Meraki products, and Cisco Routing protocols. This role requires a strong background in troubleshooting complex network issues and a solid understanding of additional technologies such as Azure and SolarWinds.

This role can sit anywhere in the US - 100% REMOTE

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design & Implementation:
    • Design, implement, and maintain network solutions with a focus on Cisco ISE, Meraki (MX, WiFi, SD-WAN), and Cisco Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions meet business needs and performance criteria.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    • Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolution of network issues, including complex problems involving Cisco ISE, Meraki, and routing protocols.
    • Provide high-level support and guidance for network-related incidents and requests.
  • Network Optimization & Maintenance:
    • Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of services.
    • Conduct regular network assessments and updates to improve overall network performance and security.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on network performance, issues, and improvements.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
    • Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure alignment of network solutions with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco ISE, Meraki (MX, WiFi, SD-WAN), and Cisco Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
    • Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in Cisco ISE and Meraki solutions, including MX, WiFi, and SD-WAN.
    • In-depth knowledge of Cisco Routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP.
    • Familiarity with Azure cloud services is desirable.
    • Experience with SolarWinds for network monitoring and management is a plus.
