Civil Construction Manager - Tunnel Excavation

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Construction Manager - Tunnel Excavationfor a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on rails, tunnels, structures, bridges, and roadways, as well as aBachelor's Degreefrom an accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near theNew York metropolitan area.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases ofconstruction involvingthe excavation of railway tunnelinfrastructure associated with major ongoing civil construction projects
• Ensure all field personnelact in accordance to projectspecifications, safety standards,and environmental regulations, including conducting regular quality and safety inspections
• Create and enforce construction schedules, budgets,and resource planswith emphasis onachievingproject milestones and deliverables
• Oversee the handling of all on-site materials including vendor supplies and excavation products; ensure proper disposal of hazardous or contaminated soil andmaterials
• Discern areas of risk, and conveyeffective risk management strategies to mitigate potential project setbacks related to construction activities and environmental challenges
• Participate in updatemeetings to relay and address client and stakeholderconcerns; prepare project progress reports to be discussed atmeetings
• Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion
• Other related duties and tasks as required
  
  

QUALIFICATIONSinclude, but are not limited to, the following:

• Bachelor's Degreefrom an accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required
• Minimum of 15years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on rails, tunnels, structures, bridges, and roadways
• Experience workingin sensitive environmental conditions, linear construction roadways, railroads, utility lines, tunnels, or other linear structures
• NJ Transit, MTA, or Amtrak safety training, is a plus but training will be provided, if required
• Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.)
• Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level
• Valid drivers license may be required depending on site location
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
