Commercial Lines Underwriter

Job Description:

A property and casualty insurtech company is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to support underwriting new business cases. This role will contribute to the company’s rapid growth by evaluating new business and assisting with renewals for builder’s risk, contractor and LRO policies. This position is 100% work-from-home and anticipated to be 3-6 months in duration.

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new business applications, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with renewal underwriting by reviewing policy terms and conditions, and recommending changes as needed.
• Manage 10+ accounts per day, depending on the complexity and provide timely quotes and responses to brokers

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting, with a focus on small to middle markets and experience in builder’s risk, contractors or LRO.
• Experience handling new business, not just renewals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills (same-day response is required for product offerings, and timely communication is essential for the brokers).
