Job Description

Wholesale insurance broker seeking a skilled Commercial Lines Underwriter to maintain and grow a book of business. Key responsibilities include building client relationships, executing marketing plans, assessing risks, and leading a team of Assistant and Associate Underwriters.

  • Cultivate strong agency relationships and act as the primary client liaison
  • Develop and implement effective marketing plans to boost new and renewal business.
  • Evaluate risks for renewals and new business, ensuring thorough analysis of acceptability, coverage, and pricing
  • Monitor key metrics for new business success, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratio improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years in commercial lines underwriting or brokerage; excess & surplus experience preferred.
  • Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or equivalent preferred.
