The Community Living Director is responsible for overseeing Community Living program services. This position ensures quality services are provided and that services meet program objectives. Provides input into the strategic planning process and ensures program services meet organizational guidelines, funder requirements and accreditation standards.
Essential Functions
Works to continually improve the quality of services delivered. Performs home visits, develops action plans and ensures that any deficiencies are corrected. Assists with internal and external investigations as necessary.
Develops annual budget and manages budget-related activities. Creates and reviews financial reports, monitors revenue and expenses, and makes adjustments as needed to ensure that program operations are within budget.
Oversees program services and ensures that they meet organizational guidelines, funder requirements and accreditation standards. Reviews information related to compliance requirements, ensures procedures are in place to meet the requirements and develops action plans to ensure compliance. Provides input and feedback into creating and revising policies and procedures, and oversees implementation.
Establishes productive working relationships with individuals, families and funders. Reviews individual support plans (ISPs) and attends ISP meetings as needed.
Meets with referrals and participates with intake activities.
Manages the preparation and maintenance of Community Living program reports.
Reviews and analyzes reports related to program operations, identifies areas for improvement, develops and implements action plans, and ensures project completion within established timeframes.
Hires and develops management team and ensures program has proper resources to support staffing needs. Reviews staffing patterns and ensures that program needs are met. Oversees new employee training and onboarding activities.
Manages and oversees employee performance and provides effective coaching, feedback and performance evaluations. Ensures team members understand their roles and are held accountable for their objectives. Promotes employee development in relation to providing quality services and developing employee skills. Ensures employees are in compliance with training and employee documentation requirements.
Leads management team meetings and individual manager meetings, and ensures that management team is meeting regularly with staff.
Participates in committees and ad hoc projects as needed.
Works as fill-in direct care staff as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, at least 5 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and 3 years management experience in the field.
May consider candidates with less than a bachelor’s degree but they must have at least 8-10 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and 5 years management experience in the field.
Experience managing and tracking budgetary information required.
Experience working with state agencies preferred.
