Position Summary
The Compliance Investigator is responsible for modeling the 3 Company values of Compassion, Integrity, and Excellence, and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Compliance Investigator researches compliance allegations to ensure Company colleagues uphold Compassus’ high standards of business ethics. S/he assists the program, area, and regional operations teams in recognizing and remediating state, federal, and Company policy violations. S/he flexes schedule to meet company needs and may conduct on site investigations as needed.
Position-specific Responsibilities
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum three years compliance investigative experience. Must have previous experience in health care setting; home health and/or hospice preferred. Experience in Compliance 360 software preferred.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, colleagues, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with strong excel skills.
Other Qualifications
Possess strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be of high integrity including maintenance of confidential information, such as all personnel and patient records. Must be able to travel occasionally.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
A valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
Other Skills And Abilities
Excellent communication skills and strong listening skills. Understanding and acceptance of home health and hospice philosophy. Ability to flex schedule when needed. Ability to read, write and speak English.

Position-specific Responsibilities
- Conducts disclosure/complaint intake through a variety of media, using active listening to address the individual’s fundamental concerns.
- Researches and gathers facts about reported concerns; providing interpretation of company policies; performing analysis utilizing a variety of internal company resources.
- Comfortable conducting investigations on diverse and sensitive issues, with awareness of when to escalate matters to supervisor.
- Communicates candid and timely feedback to the appropriate personnel involved in the investigation process including disciplinary decisions and/or education in verbal and written form; closing matters in a timely manner.
- Manages flow of information in a manner that provides the greatest mitigation of risks for the Company.
- Tracks and records all investigative documents and steps through to resolution.
- Supports agency and corporate policies, goals, and objectives.
- Promotes a positive working relationship between agency and corporate personnel.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, educational programs and Company projects, as requested.
- Promotes home health, hospice, and palliative care philosophy.
- Communicates identified needs and potential solutions to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
