Our content strategists, designers, and analysts are members of the Federal Plain Language Community of Practice, and are dedicated to creating informative, engaging, discoverable, accessible and equitable content experiences across government. Now, we are seeking an experienced Content Editor to join our stellar team in the management, development, and maintenance of the NCUA.gov and MyCreditUnion.gov websites. **This is a hybrid position. While the work is primarily remote, the selected candidate must be locate to the VA/MD/DC area and will be expected to make visits to the client site as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and edit content for public websites.
  • Work with customers and team members to maintain, develop, validate, and upload content to websites.
  • Work with graphic design and illustrative consultants to develop and maintain consistent site style and appearance.
  • Produce an editorial calendar/content planning timeline in coordination with customers and project teams.
  • Develop detailed website maintenance instructions and FAQs.
  • Provide copyediting and quality content reviews utilizing AP Style principles.
  • Post web content that is appropriate for the agency’s content management system (Drupal).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree communications, mass media or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years plain language writing, copyediting and web content development best practices.
  • Experience in content strategy, communication strategy development and implementation.
  • Experience in writing, editing, managing content governance, quality content reviews and utilizing AP Style principles.
  • Experience working for a federal government web project; familiarization in federal web style guides and branding guidelines.
