They are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of their financial operations.

Up to $180k+ on base

Position Overview

The ideal Controller candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, particularly within the luxury goods or retail sectors. This Controller role requires a detail-oriented leader who can manage a small Finance team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and drive strategic financial initiatives to support the company’s growth.

Responsibilities Of The Controller

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Develop and manage the annual budget, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Manage cash flow, monitor financial transactions, and ensure proper controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with business goals.
• Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Implement and maintain ERP systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the Finance department.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business performance and profitability.
• Supervise and mentor the Finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  
  

Qualifications For The Controller

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar role.
• Experience in the luxury goods, retail, or jewelry industry is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, and Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting and compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  
  

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.
