JOB SUMMARY: Lead the accounting operations of the Museum in the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the Museum's reported financial results. Support mission and vision of Museum throughout performance of duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate Museum financial planning and budget management functions
- Monitor, analyze, and publish monthly operating results against budget and forecast.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal revenue and tax reporting requirements.
- Establish, document, and implement necessary accounting departmental controls, goals, objectives, policies, operating, and desk procedures.
- Serve as primary liaison for annual independent audit and tax return preparation.
- Ensure that payables are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
- Ensure that monthly bank reconciliations are completed and reviewed
- Manage outsourced activities and staff
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned
