Copy Editor

Our global SaaS client is looking for a REMOTE, freelance Copy Editor to start in the next two weeks, 40 hours per week, for at least 13 weeks, with possibility of extension.

The Copy Editor will provide relief to a lean content team by reviewing and editing various assets, including web pages, social media posts, email copy, display copy, ebooks, presentations and pitch decks. The candidate must have editing experience with technical materials in the Saas or Tech industry only.

This person will also quickly become the resident expert on the client's editorial guidelines.

Copy Editor Requirements

• 10+ years' proven copy editing experience
• Background working with software, SaaS, tech products
• Experience editing in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, Figma
• Own computer and software (can provide access to online software if does not own)
• Comfortable working at scale and volume
• Highly collaborative, communicative, diplomatic
  
  

Copy Editor Responsibilities

• Review assets for style, grammar, syntax, and brand voice
• Apply expertise on best practices for each channel / asset to make relevant edits
• Track changes with suggestions for copyediting
• Make mandatory changes based on editorial guidelines (how to use client name, product names, etc.)
• Study and become expert on client's editorial guidelines
• Own the editorial guidelines and update; use combination of provided info plus best practices to refine - how to organize guide; how to use tone/brand voice, product names, copyright, legal names, etc.; grammar, syntax, style.
• Engage in occasional communication with stake holders, answering questions on editing, advising and educating on best practices
• Work in Wrike to manage projects
