About the role: You will be working in our Austin, TX location assisting the Associate General Counsel and General Counsel in all aspects of legal affairs. You will be providing advice, guidance, and strategic counsel to management on a wide variety of legal issues and helping the General Counsel ensure that the company stays in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves working full time, Monday through Friday.

About the role: You will be working in our Austin, TX location assisting the Associate General Counsel and General Counsel in all aspects of legal affairs. You will be providing advice, guidance, and strategic counsel to management on a wide variety of legal issues and helping the General Counsel ensure that the company stays in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves working full time, Monday through Friday.
What You Will Do
- Assist the Associate General Counsel in executing litigation strategy
- Review and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, commercial contracts, and employment agreements
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s privacy program in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations
- Perform legal research and analysis, prepare and review legal documents, and draft rules, policies, and procedures
- Keep abreast of legal developments and legislation impacting the company
- Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems involving the company
- Assist in managing the company’s insurance portfolio and intellectual property portfolio
- Experienced: You have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and a bar membership in good standing. You have experience working for a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Preferred: You have industry experience working with registered agent, corporate, and lien service organizations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills: You have the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects / assignments. You have strong attention to detail and exhibit a reasonable sense of urgency.
- Excellent communication skills: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You have excellent research and technical writing skills. You communicate in both a professional and friendly manner with coworkers, correspondents, and others.
- Adaptable: You are eager to use new tools and learn new processes and technologies. You can adapt to changing priorities while working in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. You have excellent problem-solving skills to address any challenges that may arise. You have excellent analytical skills.
- Coachable: You have the ability to retain and implement instruction and training. You are open to learn and navigate our current processes and systems. You are not afraid to ask questions.
- Positive attitude: You demonstrate a positive attitude. You are courteous and polite, especially when navigating through difficult conversations, problems, or complaints that may arise.
- Team player: You are able to work in both a team and independent setting. You tend to foster support and dependability towards your peers while also getting your individual tasks done within specific time constraints.
- Reliable: You are able to work during our regular business hours at your assigned location. You are a punctual individual and able to follow an assigned work schedule. You are able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Technical competencies: You are comfortable using Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and interacting with Adobe PDF documents.
- Office environment: You are able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- $70,000 annually or higher depending on experience
