The Impact You Will Make
The Corporate Counsel will help build a scalable infrastructure to support continued growth. This position will report directly to Everstory’s General Counsel, and will supervise 1-2 paralegals or junior attorneys. This opportunity will be based in our Altamonte Springs, Florida office and will be on-site, five days a week.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate purchase and sale agreements; oversee all aspects of the closing process; collaborate with and manage external counsel.
Draft, review and negotiate landlord- and tenant-side commercial lease agreements; assist in managing all leasing activity.
Manage all routine real estate matters, including easement requests, rights-of-way, and condemnations.
Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts with vendors and customers, including technology-related/SaaS agreements, professional services agreements, construction contracts and non-disclosure agreements; develop and maintain template documents.
Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate matters, including data privacy and regulatory compliance.
Research and advise on statutory and regulatory requirements in jurisdictions where the Company maintains cemetery, funeral home and/or crematory operations.
Support the General Counsel on all matters relating to the acquisition, divestiture or financing of assets.

Requirements
JD from a nationally recognized law school and a member in good standing of at least one State Bar.
Minimum 7 years of compliance/transactional experience at a leading law firm and/or with a corporate legal department.
Experience in similar industry a plus but not required.
