Job Title: Credit Manager

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Manager to join our team and oversee our organization's credit risk management activities. The Credit Manager will play a crucial role in assessing creditworthiness, establishing credit policies, and managing the credit portfolio to minimize risk and maximize revenue. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of credit management principles.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Assess the creditworthiness of potential customers using financial statements, credit reports, and industry data to make informed credit decisions.
  • Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent and effective credit risk management.
  • Monitor and analyze credit exposure, aging receivables, and payment trends, identifying potential risks and recommending actions to mitigate losses.
  • Evaluate customer credit applications and establish appropriate credit limits and terms based on risk assessment and company guidelines.
  • Negotiate and review credit agreements, terms, and conditions with customers, vendors, and financial institutions.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and legal teams to resolve credit issues, disputes, and collections, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and assessments of existing customers, adjusting credit limits and terms as necessary based on performance and payment history.
  • Prepare and present credit reports, metrics, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights into credit portfolio performance and trends.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices in credit risk management, implementing strategies to enhance credit processes and controls.
  • Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts, providing guidance, training, and support in credit assessment and risk management practices.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or certification in Credit Management preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Credit Manager, Credit Analyst, or similar role with a minimum of 5 years in credit risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies, financial analysis, and credit scoring models.
  • Proficiency in credit management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to make sound credit decisions, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership abilities with experience in managing a team, fostering a collaborative work environment, and driving results.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to credit management and collections.
