Job Summary:
As Demand Planning Manager, you will be a key member of the team responsible for driving the Demand Planning function for eos across multiple customers. The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for the total US forecast within their respective customers and focused on sales and marketing forecast assumptions. This role will build relationships with sales and marketing partners to collaborate and align on marketing and commercial intelligence and apply promotional, distribution, cannibalization and competitive forecast impacts to the Demand Consensus forecast. The individual will gather key input from cross functional partners and challenge assumptions to drive improved forecast accuracy.
You’ll be responsible for analyzing eos product performance at key customers including shipment data, POS, channel inventory, and promotional activity to develop customer-specific forecasts and contribute to eos successfully meeting customer fill rates, in-stock targets and inventory optimization. This role will own, lead and be accountable for all demand meetings in order to support the NA S&OP.
The Demand Planning Manager represents demand planning and promotes its good practice and strategy with key business stakeholders. You are a confident and dynamic leader who is known for your impressive relationship building skills and ability to easily connect with others. You are an exceptional communicator and possess strong analytical skills. As a Demand Planning Manager, you’re comfortable working independently as well as influencing cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own the process to manage and review Sales and Marketing forecast inputs and projections to develop the monthly forecast.
- Collaborate on input from marketing on consumption trends, seasonality, and competitive activity for forecast impact assumptions.
- Collaborate on input from sales on promotional forecasts on finish goods and displays, distribution gains and losses, POG changes, and new product launches.
- Develop and manage event-based data that impacts the forecast including historical data, new product projections, promotion lifts, specific customer/channel trends, etc.
- Report forecast accuracy and root cause on promotional forecasts and new product introductions and drive actions for improvement to hit accuracy targets.
- Own baseline statistical forecast in Demand Works Smoothie (planning tool). Apply strategic and commercial assumptions in months 7-18 to align with company strategy.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of forecasts and forecast error reports to improve forecast accuracy, bias, out of stocks, SLOBs, inventory issues.
- Focus and report on forecast gaps to Plan, Risks and Ops to Plan, key drivers and gap closing actions.
- Support Quarterly SKU Rationalization effort with Brand, Sales & Finance to ensure discipline for needed SKU maintenance.
- Meet regularly with representatives of customer supply chain and buying organizations to review forecasts and supply chain performance and support delivery to customers.
- Support new product launch activity through the development of needed forecasts for initial inventory as well as forecast scenarios for replenishment.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis such as what-if scenario planning.
- Problem solve and escalate supply and forecast issues.
- You will be a key member of S&OP process. You will own and lead demand consensus meetings (S&OP) including deck preparation, key drivers for changes through appropriate waterfalls, gaps to plan, risks and ops, action items, sales plan alignment.
- Support and lead roadmap projects for forecast improvement, delivering required strategic improvements and maintaining aligned demand processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, Business)
- 5+ years’ experience in demand planning and forecasting (preferred at a CPG Manufacturer supporting a major retail account)
- Key competencies: Business Acumen, Strategic Thinking, Influencing Others, Building Relationships
- Technical aptitude and Forecasting and data software experience required (i.e. advanced Excel, SAP, Power BI, Syndicated data/ Nielson etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ambiguous environment
