Job Description
Shaddock Homes is a fast-growing family homebuilding firm located in Plano, Texas that has served the Dallas area for over 55 years. We specialize in award-winning, move-up, and high-end luxury homes primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth area .
Shaddock Homes is currently accepting resumes for a Design Consultant. The selected candidate will offer design guidance and product knowledge to our customers as they make the selections to customize the interior of their new Shaddock Home. This person will also set expectations regarding the selection process in our design studio located in The Colony.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with buyers, sales managers, purchasing, builders, vendors, and management
Design and customize cabinetry
Enter upgrade options into Brix software and document selections
Obtain buyer approval/signoffs and collect deposits within the allotted timeframe
Stay up to date on the latest interior trends and designs
Quickly and efficiently deal with conflicts in a positive way
Ability to prioritize and work with frequent interruptions
Capable of lifting 5–20-pound samples daily
Help maintain overall design studio appearance
Read and understand architectural plans & builder features
Overall understanding of the new home-building process
Knowledge of construction materials
Minimum Qualifications:
Interior Design degree preferred
Minimum of two (2) years prior design experience with a production homebuilder required
Excellent customer service skills
Must be a team player with a positive, enthusiastic attitude. This position involves interaction with both internal and external customers daily.
Effective communication and great listening skills
Willingness to learn and adapt
High level of integrity
Self-disciplined and organized, with good time management skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Prior experience with MS Office Software required (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (occasional evening hours). Excellent medical/dental / vision benefits, new home purchase discounts, & more – all in a business casual atmosphere!
