Most people take time off from their job to relax. I take time off to give back to Heart of America Council, BSA at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. Olsson allows me to take “Volunteer Time Off” to serve in my capacities as a servant leader in the Boy Scouts. Last weekend I helped maintain the beauty of our camp and led the inaugural cohort of the Micosay Leadership Accelerator Program on their tour around the reservation. The Cohort was able to see a new side of camp and network with many of Kansas City’s best business leaders to enrich their professional development, leadership experience, and service opportunities. Early professional scouters are encouraged to apply now for the 2025 cohort experience! https://lnkd.in/gbu2RXsi

In 2019, Olsson collaborated with the City of Seward, Nebraska on a water system study to evaluate the City’s water system’s capacity to meet current and future demand. Discussions with the City while generating the study determined that one of Seward’s two water towers, an aging reservoir constructed in 1946, presented unique challenges. The need for coatings rehabilitation was evident, but the tank’s proximity to existing buildings made rehabilitation cost-prohibitive. The study determined that if the reservoir was taken out of service, it should be replaced with a new 500,000-gallon reservoir to meet current and future water demands. We spearheaded the design and bidding phases, and we’re currently overseeing construction. As we approach the project’s completion, Seward is working with a local artist to create a distinctive logo for this prominent landmark. #SewardNebraska #ComprehensiveWaterStudy #CityOfSeward #CreatingALandmark

Today is a day of milestones and celebrations! We kicked off the morning with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Yvonne Richardson Community Center in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas a project that promises to bring tremendous value to our community. Later, we enjoyed another safety lunch provided by Flintco, LLC at the City of Fayetteville Fire Station #2 project site. It's inspiring to see the teams come together, prioritizing safety while building essential infrastructure for our city. Proud to be part of these impactful projects! #CivilEngineering #CommunityDevelopment #SafetyFirst #Construction #CityOfFayetteville #WeAreOlsson Olsson

Proud of the small part that Olsson gets to play in improving our community. I’m excited for this one to get started!
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday, June 28, to begin construction for an expansion of the Yvonne Richardson Community Center (YRCC) and improvements to Ralph “Buddy” Hayes Park. Speakers for the event included Mayor Lioneld Jordan, YRCC Director Josh Lainfiesta and Alison Jumper, director of Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs. The YRCC expansion is funded by the Parks Improvement Bond approved by Fayetteville residents in 2019, as well as a matching grant from the Walton Family Foundation. In total, more than $2.6 million will be invested in the expansion and park improvements. To learn more about these projects, go to: https://lnkd.in/gd-bvdNJ #FayettevilleBondProjects

We provided structural engineering services for the Charles E. Lakin YMCA in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Our design – including long-spanning concrete and steel construction - helps local families enjoy year-round fun, with features like a track and weight room built over the main swimming pool. #YMCAFacility #CouncilBluffsIowa #StructuralEngineering
