As a Design Engineer - Process, you will be responsible for creating and managing detailed designs and plans for FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Fine, Agro, and specialty chemical processes. You will work closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure all design deliverables meet customer expectations and adhere to quality standards. This role requires hands-on experience in drafting P&IDs and producing 3D models, along with strong coordination and interdisciplinary skills.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and design P&IDs for FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Fine, Agro, and specialty chemical processes.
Coordinate with offshore design teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
Ensure all design deliverables meet customer expectations and company quality standards.
Conduct interdisciplinary coordination to ensure cohesive project execution.
Review and produce 3D models, including plant layout, piping design/layout, and instrumentation.
Create electrical bubble diagrams for hazardous area classifications.
Understand and utilize SP3D and PDMS 3D models for existing and new facilities.
Apply engineering principles and practices to project engineering, making independent decisions on technical issues.
Prepare and oversee project work plans according to scope, schedule, and budget.
Review and approve key engineering drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.
Facilitate technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and regulators.
Update client comments (red mark-ups) in P&IDs.
Required Skills
Proficiency in drafting P&IDs using AutoCAD P&ID or similar software.
Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Autodesk.
Familiarity with PIP (Process Industry Practices) and ISA-5.1 (International Standardization of Automation).
Ability to produce 3D models, including plant layout and piping design.
Experience in creating electrical bubble diagrams for hazardous areas.
Strong interdisciplinary coordination skills.
Onsite experience in reviewing process and utility diagrams.
Knowledge of SP3D and PDMS for 3D model review and information gathering.
Required Qualifications & Experience
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in drafting and designing P&IDs.
Proven experience in coordinating with offshore teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
Demonstrable experience in creating intelligent P&IDs within AutoCAD P&ID.
Experience in preparing and overseeing project work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
Experience in conducting technical discussions with third parties and client representatives.
