The Development Intern will support the development team's fundraising efforts in the months leading up to the 2024 election, a critical time for advancing and protecting our nation's democracy. This Fall 2024 internship will provide an exciting opportunity to learn about fundraising for a nonpartisan nonprofit during an extremely charged election season. Throughout the internship, the intern will conduct research on prospective donors, provide event support, draft materials and assist the team with administrative and data-entry tasks. They will engage with all members of the development team to learn about general fundraising principles and practices of a high-impact, effective development program. This position will report to the Development Associate and will also work closely with the Data and Analytics Manager.
Given CLC's range of expertise in democracy litigation and policy work, as well as marketing and communications, there are a range of opportunities for professional development across departments. Depending on the intern's interests, there is also opportunity to collaborate with the Data and Analytics Manager on data visualization and analytics projects.
This paid internship will be part-time (10-15 hours/week) for roughly three months over the fall 2024 semester. It is preferred that the intern work in person in CLC's downtown DC office 1-2 days per week, but we are happy to offer flexible scheduling in alignment with the intern's class schedule.
