Job Overview

The Digital Media Planner Specialist at Macy’s Media Network develops thoughtful, strategic media plans for advertisers using Macy's products and first-party data. The role involves providing accurate, creative, and timely responses that meet advertisers' KPIs and objectives across various media offerings, including onsite, programmatic, social, and sponsored products. The specialist manages the media mix to optimize performance, margin, and yield, and provides data-driven rationale to support plan strategies for the Sales team. Collaborating closely with Campaign Management, the specialist ensures campaigns are deliverable and executed as planned. Success in this role requires strong strategic planning, analytical skills, technical proficiency with digital media tools and CRM software, excellent organizational abilities, effective communication and presentation skills, proactive problem-solving, and a detail-oriented, collaborative, and positive attitude.

What You Will Do

  • Develop thoughtful, strategic media plans for advertisers based on a thorough knowledge of Macy's products and first-party data offerings, a deep understanding of the inventory, and within the framework of business rules.
  • Provide accurate, strategic, creative, and timely responses that meet advertisers' KPIs and objectives.
  • Plan across all media offerings, including onsite, programmatic, social, sponsored products, etc., ensuring plans are rooted in analysis and best practices.
  • Manage the media mix with a focus on performance, margin, and yield management.
  • Provide rationale and logic rooted in data and insights behind plan strategy to help Sales sell through.
  • Work closely with Campaign Management to ensure campaigns are deliverable and executed as planned.

Skills You Will Need

Strategic Media Planning: Develop strategic media plans using Macy's products and first-party data across onsite, programmatic, social, and sponsored products.

Analytical Skills: Provide accurate, data-driven responses to meet advertisers' KPIs and manage media mix for performance and yield.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with digital media tools (GAM, DV360, Facebook, Nielsen @Plan, ComScore) and CRM software (Salesforce).

Organizational Skills: Maintain flawless attention to detail, multitask, and prioritize efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Communication and Presentation Skills: Articulate plan strategies and data insights effectively to internal teams and external clients.

Problem Solving and Proactivity: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, function independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.

Experience and Knowledge: Understand digital advertising terminology and mechanics, with retail media experience being advantageous.
