Job Description
The Director of Advisory Services will support the Senior Managing Director leading the firm's fastest-growing segment, the Advisory Services line. This position will include leading large accounts, managing client relationships and working with executive management and BOD as well as, developing and strengthening client relationships, ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables, and managing and developing staff as well as participating in business development efforts.
Responsibilities:
Direct hands-on delivery and management of supporting teams; this includes delivery, client management, account expansion, and work product excellence
Leverage experience to provide a breadth of client services, from technical accounting, general accounting, FP&A and M&A services
Structure and manage multiple advisory engagements, working with cross-functional teams
Motivate, manage, develop, and coach engagement teams
Structure and be part of delivery teams for client projects and develop quality control plans for new projects and engagements
Manage budgets and financial outcomes of engagements by optimizing staffing
Develop plans for and lead proactive communication with clients and engagement teams, especially on project status and potential issues
Participate in business development to identify potential targets, and expand existing engagements
Scope projects in support of business development
Required Skills/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Graduate degree preferred with CPA designation
10+ years of relevant experience in accounting and/or transaction advisory, or similar services, including 6+ years in audit with a Big Four or other nationwide recognized accounting firms
Previous consulting experience strongly preferred
Corporate accounting experience is a plus
Demonstrated experience managing and supervising multiple teams through complex transactions
Excellent problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
Experience interacting directly with C-suite personnel
Accustomed to managing transaction deadlines
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to develop solutions - Independent thinker, quick on your feet
Must be able to travel to clients, as needed (approx. 40% of time)
