A Brief Overview

The Director of Learning is responsible for cultivating a culture of learning and implementing high-impact learning strategies to enhance business performance and accelerate associate development and engagement. This role will oversee the design, planning, implementation, and review of training programs across all parts of the business, ensuring alignment with the strategy and priorities of Safelite.


What You Will Do

  • Develop a roadmap of learning programs/solutions, that support ever evolving business needs and ties to other talent and development initiatives/programs (including, but not limited to: development programs, DEI, Performance) while enabling Safelite growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior functional leaders and people business partners to assess ongoing and future learning and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs.
  • Oversee all training curricula including research, design, and material development ensuring such programs achieve objectives and aligns with business priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement changes as necessary to elevate the impact and success of training initiatives.
  • Lead, inspire and manage the learning team including: hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, development and succession planning of talent.
  • Represent Safelite in the global learning and development communities; lead the internal Safelite learning community of practice to build awareness and connectivity to learning across the business.
  • Ensure communication strategies exist to raise awareness and promote learning opportunities to targeted audiences.
  • Stay current on learning practices, trends and technology; ensure team stays relevant.
  • Establish and manage annual budget for the function
  • What You Will Need

    • Knowledge of development and design of learning programs, instructional design, and learning technology
    • In-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods; experience with various methodologies for remote learning.
    • Embraces curiosity and navigates ambiguity, leveraging curiosity to gain clarity and path forward.
    • Open-minded and understands the importance of leveraging others unique experiences and skills to accomplish goals.
    • Continuously explores new options and solutions; enjoys leading change efforts.

    • Strong communication skills, including demonstrated facilitation skills and consultative and collaboration skills with the ability to recommend and persuade audiences.
    • Self-aware; adjusts style to audience; asks for feedback often.
