Director - Medical Communications

You will be a leader in a high visibility global position within Global Medical Communications department of Global Medical Affairs. This dynamic individual will have ultimate responsibility and accountability for the Publications department within GMAO, which includes overseeing publication strategies and all related publication activities for all oncology products (marketed and pipeline), ensuring appropriate resource levels, systems support, and policies and SOPs are available to ensure business needs are met in an efficient, timely, and compliant manner.

You will have 2/3 direct reports.

Experience within the following areas is needed:

· 7+ years of healthcare or related experience, including 5+ years of medical affairs and/or publications planning and execution experience and including 3+ years of budgetary and/or people management experience

· Oncology / rare disease experience strongly preferred

· Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant external guidelines related to publications, and current standards of good publication practice

· Significant previous experience with peer-reviewed scientific publications

· Significant vendor management experience

· Significant experience in/knowledge of clinical drug development

· Excellent communication, prioritizing, problem-solving, planning and organizational skills

· Significant previous experience in managing/leading cross-function teams

Education:

· Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD or equivalent) in a scientific discipline (preferred) or a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline plus commensurate long-term experience within pharmaceutical or biotech industry
