Shape and monetize Commercial and Industrial customer peak energy usage across Utility and Wholesale Market Programs in the United States through automated control of distributed energy resources (including building energy management systems, battery energy storage, EV charging).

Position Description


Department: Business Development

Accountable To: Chief Business Development Officer

Summary

We are searching for a Business Development Director who will develop new commercial relationships with facility control providers. As a Director of Business Development, you will increase company revenue by identifying profitable business opportunities and developing long-term strategic business growth strategies. The Director of Business Development will build internal and external relationships that increase the company’s footprint. The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong business acumen and is persuasive and adept at identifying and negotiating sound business deals that will drive Enersponse’s strategy forward at a fast pace.


Compensation: Full-time salary.


Responsibilities

As a Director of Business Development, you will:


• Become a subject matter expert on company’s products/solutions, industry trends, and competition

• Contact and qualify Leads within the power sector, assessing their unmet needs, willingness to spend, and budget authority

• Develop new qualified leads at industry trade shows and conferences

• Work with trade associations and marketing to develop outreach to the sectors.

• Introduce Enersponse’s DRMS energy management software, and nurture interest in and consideration of our solution

• Develop and execute account plans for target accounts

• Author and present sales proposals to qualified opportunities

• Close deals, with support from the Chief Business Development Officer

• Ensure the CRM remains updated and functional, creating reports and sharing funnel updates and next steps

• Contribute to the development of new sales presentations and materials


Required Education & Experience


• Experience working directly with or partnering with facility control providers (BMS, EMS, SCADA)

• Experience with direct sales and/or account management, particularly experience with selling energy software or services.

• Experience effectively selling to VP- and C-suite levels of complex organizations.

• Great communication skills, including presentation skills, written communication, and demonstrated ability to explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.

• Consultative Sales experience to deliver compelling customer solutions/propositions, writing business and technical scenarios, and producing user stories for a software development team.

• Strong sense of urgency regarding addressing customer related issues

• High adaptability and understanding of change within the evolution of a startup

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.


Preferred Education and Experience

• Deep knowledge of power providers operations, including demand response

• Passion for clean energy, decarbonization, and the power sector
