Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Development - Wind, to lead their efforts in greenfield projects across the US. If you’re excited about advancing sustainable energy solutions and have experience in spearheading wind projects, this could be your next career move.
The business is co-locating Wind and BESS sites across key regions in the US to provide solutions to growing energy demand and intermittency.
Title: Director of Development - Wind (Utility-scale)
Reports To: Executive Partners
Location: Remote (US-Based with Travel as Needed)
Role Overview:
As the Director of Development - Wind, you will be at the forefront of our client’s wind energy initiatives. This pivotal role involves driving the development, building, and flipping of wind projects ranging from 20-150MW, primarily within NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, and WECC regions. You'll be steering greenfield projects while collaborating with a dedicated team spread across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Oversee the development of wind projects from conception through to execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Market Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of wind development in NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, and WECC markets to identify and seize new opportunities.
Risk Management: Lead initiatives with a strong understanding of the risks and rewards inherent in greenfield development.
Collaboration: Work closely with financing partners, including a new JV, to secure funding and ensure the success of each project.
Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in project development processes and integrate cutting-edge technologies.
Key Qualifications:
Experience: Proven track record in wind development, especially in greenfield projects within specified markets.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience managing remote teams and complex projects.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in assessing project viability, managing budgets, and forecasting financial outcomes.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
