Role Overview

As the Director of Finance at Timoney Knox, LLP, you will oversee all aspects of our financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic analysis and planning. The ideal candidate will bring at least 7 years of relevant experience, preferably within a law firm setting, and will excel in financial and strategic analysis, budgeting, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Compile and analyze financial reports for presentation to key stakeholders.
  • Budget Preparation: Use financial data to prepare and present the annual budget to key stakeholders.
  • Strategic Analysis: Analyze financial data for profitability reviews and projections.
  • Billing Review: Prepare for and lead attorney billing review meetings.
  • Accounts Management: Monitor accounts receivable and lead collections efforts; maintain and reconcile all Firm accounts.
  • Payroll Management: Input, fund, and process payroll, including Partners' Draw.
  • Quarterly and Annual Reporting: Prepare for quarterly reporting to the external accountant; prepare and submit annual Workers' Compensation Audit, 401(k) deferrals, annual 1099 reports, and unclaimed property reports.
  • Petty Cash and Cash Receipts: Administer and reconcile petty cash; process daily cash receipts and trust deposits.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile Firm credit cards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in law firm billing, accounting, finance, or operations.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong analytical skills; demonstrated experience in financial management within a law firm setting preferred.
