Director of Learning & Staff Development

Job Description

Position: Director of Learning & Staff Development

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer, Residential & Recovery Services

Function: Responsible for the assessment of organization-wide training, educational and staff developmental needs, driving training initiatives and identifying/arranging suitable learning and development solutions for employees that align with the organization’s goals.

Tasks:

• Design a training and development strategy aligned with organizational objectives
• Develop group and individual learning courses
• Use performance reviews and skills gap analyses to identify training needs per department, team and individual
• Craft career/staff development plans
• Oversee learning activities, curricula and resources
• Evaluate the results of learning courses
• Assist in the development of training opportunities for staff advancement
• Implement coaching sessions and mentorship programs to establish a culture of continuous learning
• Oversee the implementation of a learning management system
• Recommend new training methods
• Deliver targeted training sessions
• Duties as assigned by supervisor
  
  

Qualifications:

• Work experience as a Training Director, Training Manager or similar role
• In-depth understanding of traditional and contemporary learning modalities and training methods, including workshops, simulations, e-learning and coaching
• Experience organizing training activities and designing education and staff development curricula in a corporate environment
• Hands-on experience with project management
• Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• BS/MS in Human Resources, Learning, Development, Organizational Psychology or relevant field
• Experience promoting the development of staff with lived experience with a behavioral health condition preferred.
  
  

Salary: $116,000 - $130,000- commensurate with experience, generous benefits
