Director of Operations

Gulfstream Staffing is partnered with a rapidly growing Midwest Trucking and Transportation company specializing in temperature-controlled, haz-mat, high-value goods and pharma/cold chain. They are currently seeking candidates for a full-time Director of Operations. This role will be responsible for engaging in strategic management and leadership over all aspects of operational performance. Family owned and operated business for over 35 years.

Position: Director of Operations

Location: St. Louis, MO area

Duties:

• Engage in strategic management and leadership over all aspects of operational performance, including problem identification, solution recognition and implementation, & personnel management
• Successfully promote, manage, and maintain a positive work environment to improve operational efficiency, employee engagement, and employee retention.
• Create and execute a plan for forecasted freight volumes/customer volume needs, power/equipment needs, and adjust capacity needs to ensure fleet/carrier and equipment coverage is seamless.
• Manage and coordinate branch freight forwarding and warehousing activities.

Qualifications:

• At least three years of management experience in transportation industry
• Excellent communication and management skills
• Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently in fast-paced, high-pressure environment
