Position Overview

Verra Mobility is hiring a Director of Operations (Event Processing) who will be responsible for the overall operational success of our high-volume event processing department. This leader-of-leaders has proven experience in leading manager-level staff and is someone who exercises good judgment and makes sound business decisions.  A successful candidate will have a strong leadership foundation and be a self-starter who independently and successfully manages inventory levels along with ever-changing customer business requirements.  A commitment to managing and motivating people while seeking enhanced process controls, continuous improvement, and metrics-based management is important to the success of the position. The candidate must place great emphasis on high quality work paired with efficient production while also, and especially, placing an even heavier emphasis on sustainable employee engagement.  It is also essential that this leader has a true customer-centric mindset.

Essential Overviews

  • Lead our event processing centers across the country (and overseas) and ensure inventory levels are healthy, SLAs are attained, and productivity is maximized.
  • Recruit and manage a large staff in excess of 100 people while investing heavily in talent development; Manage performance to ensure high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Manage outsourcing vendors and subcontractor relationships, holding them to the same high standards of productivity and quality that Verra Mobility requires of their processors.
  • Serve as a key liaison and internal partner with groups like PMO, Implementations, IT, Engineering, and the Account Management teams. Work with internal departments to resolve issues, implement process changes and communicate solutions to client.  Use technology to improve process and service model.
  • Increase transactional processing effectiveness by identifying opportunities for improvement and designing/implementing solutions that improve throughput, quality and business profitability.
  • Identify, implement, and manage continuous improvement through the application of Six Sigma, Lean, or other similar methodologies.
  • Analyze operational and process issues; develop diagnostic and/or data tracking tools to measure defects; and make recommendations for cost efficiencies. Forecast operational results based on identified data trends.
  • Create business strategies and propose implementation methods. Prepare business plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Create, maintain, and improve (if necessary) operations metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Invest heavily in activities that support creating and maintaining a department-wide “Win Together” culture with high employee engagement.
  • Manage two operational P&Ls, which includes forecasting and capacity planning on an annual and quarterly basis.
  • Manages projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in business or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ year’s experience of increasing responsibility in operations, and/or business process in high-volume transaction processing environments.
  • 5+ years of effective people leadership including demonstrated skills ranging from work direction, motivation, coaching/feedback, and developing assigned staff with the expected outcome of a consistently positive client experience and attainment of SLAs.
  • Proven experience and effectiveness in being a leader-of-leaders with a strong track record in leadership development; Experience in leading Managers.
  • Qualified candidates will possess exceptional statistical/analytical skills, exemplary problem-solving abilities and show initiative to get ahead of potential out-of-compliance processes, as evidenced by constructing and analyzing data to evaluate financial performance and transactional quality of complex business and systems processes to identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships; Ability to have the tough internal conversations while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Demonstrated business process engineering/re-engineering experience using Six Sigma, Lean or other formal process improvement methodology.
  • Experience in design and execution of strategic plans.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
