About Zaya Care:

Zaya Care is a venture-backed startup with a mission to establish a new standard of affordable, preventative and human-centered care, beyond the traditional hospital setting. We achieve this by enabling independently-owned practices to accept and work with insurance in a profitable way. Zaya champions the voices of small private practices in an industry dominated by large health systems. Through strategic partnerships with insurance carriers, we eliminate the risk and administrative hurdles associated with insurance, enabling entrepreneurial providers to launch and expand successful in-network practices, ultimately increasing access to affordable healthcare across the US.

About the Role

As Director of Operations at Zaya and an early employee, you’ll build and scale our initial processes into scalable, robust systems that can grow with our operational needs. You’ll report directly to the CEO, build out our revenue cycle function, and manage various other operational areas crucial to our growth. We’re looking for someone who blends sharp strategic thinking with proactive problem-solving, all while thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This role is for a leader ready to tackle big challenges and drive significant impact across multiple operational fronts.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify bottlenecks and create new workflows and automations: 1) Oversee end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management related functions including eligibility, billing, collections, and reporting/analysis. 2) Direct our credentialing and enrollment processes to accelerate insurance enrollments, allowing our providers to quickly begin offering insurance-covered care. 3) Drive process improvements in our user experience that let us further reduce the administrative burden that our practices are going through
  • People leadership: Lead our billing, credentialing and customer support teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work together with our sales team to develop a seamless provider onboarding experience, ensuring smooth integration into our credentialing and eligibility services. Closely partner with our Product & Engineering teams to bring our RCM efficiency, accuracy and analytics to the next level.
  • Initiate and lead new strategic projects: Lead the development and implementation of new strategic projects, such as outcome measuring and care coordination initiatives, to enhance healthcare delivery and strengthen our negotiation power on behalf of our providers.
  • Champion data-driven culture: Define relevant KPIs and metrics for RCM and Credentialing, set targets, and identify levers to achieve them. Establish a shared language of metrics across the team and educate the team on understanding and utilizing these metrics effectively.

About you:

  • 4+ years of work experience in healthcare operations, ideally at an early-stage startup
  • 1+ years experience in an RCM-related role; you are well familiar with key RCM functions, including eligibility, claims submissions and denial management
  • You have 1 or more year(s) people management experience, and can comfortably communicate and delegate priorities
  • You're a challenger: You thrive on pushing boundaries, eager for constant learning and high autonomy, mastering the details without losing sight of the big picture.
  • You're an analytical thinker: You are skilled at breaking big problems down into actionable pieces. You have a knack for transforming data into actionable insights, understanding its pivotal role in strategic decisions.
  • You're a team builder & operationally excellent: You’re able to manage a large volume of moving pieces without breaking a sweat. You proactively partner across teams while holding others accountable for business results.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Salary of $125,000 - $155,000, plus equity package
  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Opportunity for impact– as an early team member joining during seed stage, you’ll be an integral player in bringing our vision to life
