HR Soul is currently partnering with a client that provides PEO services to SMB, Mid-Market and Enterprise clients, with this role focusing on the creating and development of benefit strategies and offerings. They are looking for a talented Director of PEO Benefits to join their growing organization in Pinellas Park, Florida. Pinellas Park offers a vibrant blend of small-town charm and urban convenience, with beautiful parks, a thriving arts scene, and close proximity to stunning Gulf Coast beaches. With a warm climate year-round and a welcoming community, it's an ideal place to balance work and a relaxed lifestyle.


In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing both short- and long-term benefits strategies while overseeing the day-to-day operations and compliance of the benefits department. Your expertise in collaborating with carriers and underwriters to design competitive and cost-effective benefit plans is critical to their success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement innovative benefit plan designs that meet the unique needs of small, mid-size and enterprise employers, ensuring competitive offerings across a range of traditional and supplemental benefits.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of experienced Benefits professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA, and stay updated on emerging trends and legislative changes in the benefits landscape.
  • Client Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them in making informed and compliant decisions regarding their benefits offerings. Oversee the client onboarding process and lead annual healthcare open enrollment initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the administration of client-sponsored benefits, manage benefit technology implementations, and ensure accurate file feeds to carriers and vendors. Monitor accounts payable, audits, and compliance related to all plans including all billing aspects.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the CEO and other business leaders to explore strategic alternatives and enhance departmental margins.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7 years+ of strategic benefits planning experience, with at least 3 years working within a PEO.
  • Licensure: 2-15 Florida Health & Life Agent License.
  • Expertise: Strong command of Health and Welfare plan compliance and reporting requirements, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, and ERISA.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and influence executive-level client conversations, coupled with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
