Summary
The Director of Program and Project Management is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of the organization's programs and projects, with a strong emphasis on both Waterfall and Agile Methodologies. This position ensures alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, project delivery on-time, within scope, and budget. This position will establish and enforce project management methodologies (both waterfall and agile methodologies), governance frameworks, and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the PMO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Your deliverables as a Director, Program and Project Management may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and implement program and project management strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- Align PMO activities with organizational goals and priorities
- Develop and Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial oversight.
- Identify and implement best practices in program and project management.
- Implement change control procedures to address scope changes and project adjustments.
- Monitor the work of program and project managers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure the team’s performance, development, and motivation
- Lead and mentor program and project management staff.
- Develop a bi-weekly reporting standard and conduct bi-weekly project meetings with leadership
- Track and report on program and project performance to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Identify potential program and project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage the allocation and utilization of resources across projects and programs, adjust as needed.
- Develop resource plans and budgets, ensuring optimal use of financial and human resources
- Implement risk management protocols to minimize project disruptions.
- Implement quality standards and processes to ensure project deliverables meet expectations.
- Conduct regular quality assessments and take corrective actions, as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and best practices.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of program and project management.
- Work with Agile teams to ensure that release work is being complete.

Experience:
· Proven experience in program and project management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
Education:
· Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project related certification, preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, related field or equivalent years of experience.
Skills:
· Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills
· Ability to predict challenges and proactively head-off obstacles.
· Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
· Capability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous situations.
· Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, vendors, and management.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others.
· Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Familiar with Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
· Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
· Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
· Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.
· Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g. Jira, Monday)
