Full-time Administrator (Level 18)

Salary Range: $86,000 - $96,000 (Annual salary is commensurate with experience)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Dean of Academic Innovation

This position will be open until filled.

Position will be based at the Blue Bell campus.

  • This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. Location will mainly be at the Blue Bell campus.
  • This position requires the new hire to submit the child abuse clearance, the PA State Police check, and FBI fingerprint results to Human Resources prior to their first day of employment.
  • This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be endedat any timeby the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.

Basic Purpose:

As an administrator in the division of Academic Innovation, the Director of Workforce Development for Information Technology will work to sustain, develop, and grow programming. These will include non-credit courses, certificates, contract training with industry partners, and apprenticeship models that will allow students to earn and learn as they enter the information technology field. Guided by labor market intelligence and with the input of industry advisors, the director will work collaboratively with workforce colleagues, and other college administrators and faculty to continue to build industry-relevant learning paths for students and content for industry partners. They will be responsible for planning, developing, supervising, and evaluating workforce information technology programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the overall operation of the Workforce Development IT programs and design, develop, and implement processes to collaborate with relevant credit programs to accomplish in the following:
    • assemble a responsive, engaged Information Technology Industry Advisory Board;
    • build clear, navigable pathways that stack non-credit and credit learning experiences and that incorporate experiential learning opportunities and assessments to support student success and career progress;
    • use labor market intelligence, environmental scanning, and other market needs research to inform program assessment and program development;
    • in consultation with the Admissions and Marketing Offices, participate in student recruitment activities and assist in the marketing of the Information Technology programs. Works closely with the Dean of Academic Innovation and Dean of STEM in promoting new and existing programs.
  • Working in collaboration with Computer Science (CIS) director, facultyand workforce development administrators, propose and develop new programs and courses as well as modify the computer curricula to ensure currency and market value and develop seamless articulations to ensures the growth of the credit and non-credit programs and success-focused student experiences that ensure retention, persistence, and credential completion for Workforce IT students.
  • Direct, communicate, and coordinate with Cisco Networking Academies and serve as lead for Cisco Instructor Training Center to ensure compliance with Cisco operating and quality standards.
  • Serve as an advisor to credit and non-credit current and potential students and as an engaged point of contact for program inquiries and for prospective students regarding all the academic and non-academic related issues. Serve as a liaison to regional high schools to facilitate seamless student transition to College IT programs and services.
  • Maintain responsibility for planning, budgeting, hiring, implementation, and supervision of strategic initiatives.
  • Develop program teaching schedules and course offerings in consultation with Division Deans. Recruits, directs, supervises, and evaluates non-credit instructors in coordination with dean of workforce and economic development.
  • Provide recommendations for scheduling computer labs/classrooms, both on campus and at off-site locations. Act as liaison with IT on issues relating to the computer labs. Maintain classrooms to ensure they are well-equipped.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommends instructional resources necessary for the delivery of the courses.
  • Identify and coordinate external partnership opportunities for scholarships, equipment, internships, and other student supports and provide internal coordination of initiatives.
  • Develop, cultivate, and deepen business and industry partnerships on specialized custom and open-enrollment training.
  • Participate in regional/statewide organizations and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Dean and other division directors on setting revenue goals, budget planning, and strategic planning to achieve the divisions goals.
  • Collaborate on relevant grant proposal development activities and maintain responsibility for managing grant activities and funding.
  • Conduct program evaluations and assessments and monitor key performance indicators of progress toward achieving the Colleges and the Divisions goals.
  • Collaborate with other division directors to assign and monitor the relevant tasks and responsibilities of the Division administrative assistant(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education/Training/Work Experience:

  • Masters Degree with at least two years of work experience and at least one computer industry certification.
  • Knowledge of CISCO Networking Academy required.
  • 3 years or more years of experience in an academic environment in program management.
  • Current technical knowledge in programming, networking, web development, cloud computing, operating systems, databases, cyber security, etc.
  • Experience in teaching IT courses preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development, educational methodologies and assessment preferred.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated administrative, problem-solving, team, and organizational skills.
  • Proven skills in handling detailed tasks and multiple assignments.
  • Established interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated record of being able to work well with people in a service organization. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various types of individuals and companies.
  • Valid drivers license and insured automobile required for travel.
