The Opportunity
Pillar4 Media is seeking a Director, SEO to join its fast-growing team.
As a member of the Partnerships team, you’ll work closely with senior leadership and other team members to ensure strong, sustainable organic traffic growth for a Pillar4 Media vertical.

Our vision is to build the #1 content and commerce engine connecting consumers directly to the best brands in all four pillars of health and wellness: sleep, fitness, nutrition, and mental health.

What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting To The President, The Director, SEO Will
- Lead SEO strategy and execution for a Pillar4 Media website or partnership
- Lead, manage, and coach an SEO team across analyst and promotions disciplines
- Create and develop content strategy in close collaboration with the editorial and video teams
- Drive outreach and promotions strategy that builds authoritative sites set up for long-term sustainable growth
- Drive technical SEO and infrastructure strategy in close collaboration with development, design, and other functional stakeholders
- Identify and scale opportunities in internal experiments, organic landscape trends, and other areas that accelerate business growth
- Analyze portfolio performance to make proactive, data-driven decisions to improve our visibility in search and drive the P&L
- Drive key business initiatives for your vertical such as channel expansion and M&A diligence, vetting, and integration
- Recruit the team, provide outstanding leadership, and create a positive culture
- Strong analytical skills and entrepreneurial drive
- 5+ years of work experience in an SEO role, 2+ years in a leadership position (agency or in-house)
- Comfort with measuring, interpreting, and making real-time decisions based on large volumes of data
- Ability to build spreadsheet models, conduct ROI analysis, and present data and recommendations to senior team members on a regular basis
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets; competency in advanced statistical tools and data visualization tools a plus
- Advanced experience with tools including but not limited to Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, and SEMRush
- Creating, owning, and executing on scalable SEO strategies
- Experience leading, managing, and coaching a team of SEO analysts, promotions/outreach teammates, and other supporting roles
- Deep collaboration with several functional groups including editorial, development, design, CRO, and others
- Desire for a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with competing priorities and deadlines
- Competitive drive and a hunger to learn
- Openness to feedback and collaboration: You’ll be working closely with folks across different teams, so you’ll need to be open to the process and accepting of feedback and critique.
