Job Description
Exciting opportunity at MSK: Join our team as an Editor/Grant Writer! We’re looking for a dynamic professional to support faculty in the Departments of Medicine and Surgery as a member of Editorial and grant Writing Services team.
Role Overview:
- Create and maintain work plans for federal and foundation grant proposals and edit all grant components.
- Edit, coordinate, and submit grant applications and manuscripts to journals under tight deadlines.
- Work closely with physician-scientists and other research staff to ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
- Draft letters of support for grants and letters of recommendation for service chiefs.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in substantive editing, grants and/or project management, publishing, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the submission of federal grants is preferred.
- American Medical Writers Association, Board of Editors in the Life Sciences, or University of Chicago Medical Writing & Editing Program certification (preferred).
- Ability to understand and communicate complex information.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficiency in bibliographic/reference management software (i.e., EndNote), Office 365, and teleconferencing systems. Knowledge of PowerPoint, Acrobat Writer, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator useful.
- An interest in or familiarity with clinical research.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving to ensure unforeseen issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely fashion.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact across all levels in a confident, professional manner.
- Enthusiasm and dedication to MSK's vision, mission and values.
- Location: Fully remote role with no on-site time, consistent with the overall unit. An individual may request for a hybrid option to allow some travel to campus.
- Reporting to the Managing Editor/Grant Writer.
