Summary:
The cost control engineer assists the project controls manager in managing all aspects of a project including the organization, planning, scheduling, subcontractor scheduling, and day-to-day issues, in a manner that results in completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations. By ensuring proper company/customer procedures are followed, and established budgets and schedules are adhered to.
Job Description:
MMR is seeking Cost Engineer candidates with at least 3 years of electrical construction experience. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following:
The cost engineer will assist the project controls team in managing timekeeping, purchasing, and subcontracts
This includes but not limited to time keeping management, material quotations, material and subcontractor invoicing reviews, budget updates, client billing, etc. in a manner that results in completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations
As required, interact with key members of the project team and client organization to set up, prepare, and maintain weekly/monthly project and program reports including cost forecasting, cash flow forecasting, etc
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor and upper management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
BS degree in Accounting, Business Management, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering or related field; or an equivalent relevant work experience
At least 3 years of work experience in industrial construction
Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity
Working knowledge of MS Office software
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
Able to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
Regular and reliable attendance at work
