The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for building projects, ensuring they meet safety standards and are efficient and sustainable. The role involves collaborating with other MEP engineers, architects, and construction teams to deliver integrated building solutions.
(EIT and/or PE required, CST and EST time zone preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
- Develop electrical system designs for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
- Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed electrical layouts.
Project Management:
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Coordinate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure project timelines are met.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
Technical Analysis:
- Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
- Analyze and interpret technical specifications, codes, and standards.
- Evaluate and recommend energy-efficient solutions and technologies.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
- Stay updated with industry standards and advancements in electrical engineering.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with mechanical and plumbing engineers to integrate systems seamlessly.
- Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to understand project requirements.
- Prepare and present technical reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the MEP sector.
- Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design software. Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and teamwork skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
