Job Details
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components to fulfill project requirements.
Write detailed design specifications, and develop test plans and specifications for evaluating electrical components and sub-systems (e.g., motors, transformers, contactors, drives, relays, switches, heaters, and sensors).
Set up and define test specifications for electrical and electronic controls.
Collaborate with suppliers and in-house colleagues on the development of sub-systems and components.
Ensure sub-systems and components are designed to meet marketing specifications and regulatory standards, considering the full system design.
Provide production support as needed, addressing quality issues (QIs), continuous improvements (CIs), and problem-solving.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
Minimum of 2 years of Electrical Engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Skills And Abilities
Ability to apply logical or scientific principles to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Proficiency in engineering design software and equipment.
Experience with software programs in assembly, C, or higher-level languages for microcontroller-based electronic controls.
Competence in writing technical reports and completing documentation within required timeframes.
Ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with an understanding of larger project goals and outcomes.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Self-motivated with a hands-on approach.
Willingness and ability to learn motor controls.
