We’ve included some post-storm safety tips in our guide as well, such as: 🔌 If power is out, unplug all major appliances before turning the electricity back on to minimize surge damage 🔌 If your home flooded, have a professional electrician check the residence before turning the electricity on 🔌 Only use portable generators outside and at least 20 feet away from windows, doors and vents.

At today's Summerfest Tech panel on Women In Technology, Generac's Erik Wilde and Tami Garrison, Dana Guthrie, and Dr. Leah Newman had an open conversation, sharing personal stories, about the impact representation, mentorships, support networks, and role models have on women at every level within technology and engineering fields. But of all the points raised, a special emphasis was put on engineering more early opportunities to introduce STEM education to young women.
